Take the FWTA Spring Break Safari Shuttle for Easy Access to Fort Worth Zoo
Low-cost shuttle runs every 30 minutes from ITC to and from the zoo
Spring break is just around the corner, and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA) will once again operate its Safari Shuttle to and from the Fort Worth Zoo on weekdays and both weekends of spring break.
Starting Saturday, March 12, and continuing through Sunday, March 20, zoo visitors can enjoy an inexpensive way to travel without battling traffic or looking for a parking spot. The Safari Shuttle bus will run an express service from Bus Bay 5 A, adjacent to the Trinity Railway Express platform, at the FWTA downtown Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) to and from the Fort Worth Zoo’s main parking lot entrance on Colonial Parkway during spring break.
The FWTA round-trip Day Pass for the Safari Shuttle is $3.50 for adults, $1.75 for children 18 and under and seniors 65 and older (with transit agency reduced ID card), and free for children under 5.
Zoo visitors arriving from Dallas and the Mid-Cities by the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) train may ride the Safari Shuttle from the ITC free of charge by using their TRE day pass ticket or with a valid weekly, monthly or annual regional pass.
The Safari Shuttle’s route is from ITC, located at 1001 Jones Street in downtown Fort Worth, to Colonial Parkway – a short walk from the zoo’s main entrance. The Safari Shuttle will run every 30 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 12-20. The first shuttle leaves the ITC at 9:30 a.m. and the last shuttle leaves the Zoo at 6 p.m.
For specific time schedules for the Safari Shuttle and to get more information, please call FWTA’s Customer Service at 817-215-8600 or visit the FWTA website.
The Fort Worth Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $14 for adults, $10 for seniors and children (ages 3 to 12), and toddlers 2 and under are free. Admission is half-price every Wednesday.
