Traveling by Train

Train travel is an integral part of Texas history, and much of our economic development was made possible through the expansion of the railroads in the mid-1800s.

Trinity Metro is proud to continue that tradition through the Trinity Railway Express and TEXRail, serving DFW area commuters for work and pleasure alike.

Trinity Railway Express

Why limit life to one city? Enjoy all of the unique attractions and business opportunities that the Dallas-Fort Worth area has to offer – all easily accessible using the Trinity Railway Express (TRE). The TRE commuter rail service connects downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas, and many points in between.

The TRE is jointly owned and operated by Trinity Metro and Dallas Area Rapid Transit. Scheduled train service is provided Monday through Saturday.

Trinity Metro TEXRail

Trinity Metro TEXRail is a 27-mile commuter rail line that runs between downtown Fort Worth and the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s Terminal B. With a total of nine stations, the route runs through North Fort Worth, North Richland Hills and Grapevine. Since beginning operations in January 2019, TEXRail has provided a premium service for an economical fare. The route has been popular with daily commuters, business travelers, tourists and day trippers. Trinity Metro provides free parking (with a 20-hour limit) at all TEXRail stations except DFW Airport Terminal B Station and Fort Worth Central Station. TEXRail operates on the same schedule every day, including holidays.
