Who: Featured speakers include Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker, Visit Fort Worth President & CEO Bob Jameson, and Downtown Fort Worth Inc. President Andy Taft. Trinity Metro President & CEO Rich Andreski will emcee the event. Additional speakers include Jacques Marquis, CEO of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and Zach Murphy from Sundance Square.

 

Trinity Metro celebrates on June 4, launches downtown Blue Line on June 8

(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) May 27, 2025 —Trinity Metro is excited to announce the launch of the Blue Line, the second of Trinity Metro’s color-coded bus routes, in early June. Visit Fort Worth and Downtown Fort Worth, Inc., are funding partners for the Blue Line, which will help riders travel around downtown. Passengers will enjoy a sleek new riding experience around downtown in bright blue buses with iconic artwork on the exterior. Once aboard the bus, they’ll enjoy comfortable perimeter seating with additional artwork inside and on selected seats.

Blue Line will replace Molly the Trolley, which will cease operations at the end of service on Saturday, June 7. The first day of operations for Blue Line will be Sunday, June 8, and the new line will offer convenient daily service from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Riders can easily hop on and hop off whenever they’d like – and the route has a bus coming by every 7 minutes, so it’s extremely convenient.

“Much like the Orange Line, Trinity Metro’s Blue Line will provide a necessary connection for residents and tourists to some of Fort Worth’s iconic destinations,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. “The color-coded lines are very appealing for riders and the overall look raises the bar for an outstanding transit experience.”

Fort Worth is a popular destination with 11.5 million visitors last year – which means $3.5 billion in economic impact, according to Visit Fort Worth. That’s nearly double the 2014 figure of 6.5 million visitors. An estimated $251 million in state and local tax revenues are generated by visitor spending.

Bob Jameson, president and CEO of Visit Fort Worth added, “Offering rides every 7 minutes is very convenient and a great incentive for riders to hop on board. The complimentary bus route supports a growing convention business in our downtown and is one more example of the welcome extended to our visitors.”

Thanks to partnerships with Downtown Fort Worth Inc. and Visit Fort Worth, riding the Blue Line is free year-round. The route offers easy connectivity to buses, Trinity Metro TEXRail, Trinity Railway Express and Trinity Metro Bikes at Fort Worth Central Station and Fort Worth T&P Station.

Downtown Fort Worth Inc. President Andy Taft said, “We support public transportation because of its direct impact on making downtown a vibrant place to live, visit and work. Easy-to-use, dedicated routes like the Blue Line are critical for connectivity throughout downtown, especially when they tie into the greater transit network.”

The route connects to downtown shops, dining, hotels and more. Selection destinations along the Blue Line include stops near Fort Worth Convention Center, Fort Worth Water Gardens and the ever-popular Sundance Square.
