To generate some fun customer engagement, Trinity Metro held a train-naming contest to give an individual identity to each of TEXRail’s trains. Since 2019, only one TEXRail train has had its own identity: Spike, which was the last of the eight trains to be delivered.
The competition drew an amazing response with more than 1,000 suggestions. Now each of the TEXRail trains has a new name to complete the fleet. Thanks to the community for offering up a great variety of identities. Spike will keep his name, and now we’ve got Zippy, Miles, Ranger, Bluebonnet, Panther, Maverick and Vaquero.
