FORT WORTH, TX (Nov. 24, 2025) – Trinity Metro is proud to announce the debut of its 2025 Holiday Bus, a festive gift to the community that combines holiday magic with a new digital storybook, A Longhorn Christmas. This initiative expands the agency’s commitment to early literacy while celebrating Fort Worth’s unique community spirit.
The story follows three young longhorns whose holiday adventure highlights the power of teamwork, courage, and community pride. This digital book is the latest addition to Trinity Metro’s growing literacy program, which launched earlier this year with the popular Storytime Train.
Families across Fort Worth can celebrate the unveiling of the 2025 Holiday Bus at the Fort Worth Parade of Lights on Sunday, Nov. 30. The specially decorated bus, showcasing its storybook theme, will join the parade hosted by Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. Following its debut, the Holiday Bus will operate on various fixed routes throughout the season, bringing a touch of festive joy to customers across the city.
“We wanted this year’s Holiday Bus to be more than just a parade feature—it’s a gift to Fort Worth families,” said Richard Andreski, President & CEO of Trinity Metro. “By pairing a locally inspired story with a bus that will travel through our neighborhoods, we’re spreading literacy, joy, and the spirit of the season in a way only Fort Worth can.”
A free digital storybook, A Longhorn Christmas, will be available on Trinity Metro’s website (RideTrinityMetro.org/POL) on Thanksgiving Day.

Trinity Metro is monitoring conditions and actively planning for winter weather predicted to arrive in North Texas later this week.
As always, we will do our best to keep as many transportation services operating as long as it is safe to do so. Operations supervisors will try to follow regular routes when possible, but icy or snowy conditions may affect some areas while others remain clear. We will actively monitor conditions and determine when detours are necessary. These will be posted to the Trinity Metro website as soon as confirmed.
In addition, Trinity Metro TEXRail and Trinity Railway Express will employ rail switch heaters along rail corridors to prevent tracks from freezing. Passengers may notice flames emitting from the tracks, but this is not cause for alarm and is well controlled.
Please stay connected with Trinity Metro for updates. You may follow us on our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X and Nextdoor) or sign up to receive alerts via email or SMS at https://ridetrinitymetro.org/connectwithus/. For questions about specific routes, riders may call Customer Support and Solutions at 817-215-8600.
If the determination is made to operate as a “Severe Winter Weather” day, all Trinity Metro fixed route bus service will run on a Saturday schedule. Once the decision is made, the services will stay on Saturday schedule for the remainder of the day.
Note that the following routes do not have normal Saturday service, Burnett Plaza Lunch Line, Express Routes 61, 63, 65. These routes will not operate during Severe Winter Weather.
All normal Saturday services will operate as scheduled with the exception of Molly the Trolley, which will not operate.
ROUTING/DETOURS
To the greatest extent possible, operations will follow regular routes. It is not unusual for some portions of the service area to experience icy conditions while others are clear. Operations supervisors will survey the situation and determine if it is safe to use regular routing. However, there are many segments of routes that may be considered too hazardous to traverse in icy conditions and staff have proactively worked out detours to avoid them. Most hazards involve steep slopes and bridges. However, other hazards may include areas that remain shaded thus slowing the ice melt, narrow residential streets with on-street parking, or even shallow slopes with stops where there is insufficient traction to overcome both gravity and inertia. The public will be encouraged to call Customer Support & Solutions to confirm if their route is on detour.
Trinity Metro TEXRail will have a partial service disruption on Sunday, Jan. 19, because of work being done for DART’s Silver Line project.
Service between Fort Worth T&P Station and Grapevine/Main Street Station will operate as usual. Bus transportation will be provided between Grapevine/Main Street Station and DFW Airport Terminal B Station. The bus will provide express service between those two stations and will not serve DFW Airport North Station.
Trinity Metro will be operating modified service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. On Monday, Jan. 20, all buses (except those noted below) and Trinity Metro On-Demand Paratransit will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.
Trinity Metro TEXRail, TRE, TRE LINK, and CentrePort Circulator will operate on their regular schedules. All Trinity Metro On-Demand service areas will have normal operations.
The customer kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station will be open from 9 a.m to 6 p.m.
Administrative offices will be closed. Our Customer Support and Solutions representatives will be available at 817-215-8600 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
