(FORT WORTH, TX – Jan. 31, 2022) – Donna Walker is a professional artist who has been painting full-time for more than a decade. She exhibits her paintings through galleries in Fort Worth, Dallas, Boston and Atlanta. Her work is in many private collections across the country.

Walker’s artwork depicts the large, bright vistas of the rugged Texas landscape. Simple homesteads, native plants, rough hills and open skies showcase the natural beauty of our state. Her bright colors and impactful compositions contrast with the urban scenes of downtown Fort Worth around the train station and the bustle of people and schedules. Fort Worth is a busy city, but it is also on the edge of the countryside. Within a few miles, you are in the open range, with ranches, farms, and large, expansive vistas. It is a wonderful combination that makes this city a unique place. Her work invites the traveler to let their mind wander to what lies beyond the city.

As you move through the six images of the artwork, with their rich, saturated colors, the perspective changes, and there is a rhythm to the abstracted landscape, imagined homesteads and changing horizons. There is a different pace to life represented in Walker’s scenes, with a hint of nostalgia.

Donna’s art has a strong composition and a simple, straight forward design that creates an impact on a viewer, and perhaps an emotional connection. The images can be read quickly by a commuter or, if they have time, can be looked at more closely, with the panels’ small details, texture and connected themes. It is a gift, especially in today’s busy world, to take time to look, to slow down, to reflect and be transported to a new colorful space.

(FORT WORTH, TX – Jan. 25, 2022) – Ariel Davis is an artist, gallerist, art consultant, and arts advocate based in Fort Worth. Her work reflects on humanity, shared experiences, and time. In her work, you can find at the core the idea of relationships that play with symbolism to tell a story. In preparation of creating a painting, she employs the process of photography, collage, and digital manipulation to create a unique source image. Many times she will engage individuals in the community to collaborate with her as subjects in her work. Capturing and portraying the energy, experience and mood of a scene, group or individual is more important than the details, which is defined by her loose style and use of bold color.

“Friends in Fort Worth T-Shirts” is all about the community coming together to show pride in our city. The intent of imagery in this artwork was to welcome those using public transit to our downtown area, showing the diverse faces who are physically wearing their pride and welcoming all with open arms. 

The project began as an open-invitation group event, where friends and strangers were invited to participate in a photoshoot wearing their favorite t-shirt that promoted or memorialized Fort Worth in some visual capacity. People of all backgrounds came to be photographed.

These portraits were then digitally collaged together to create a panoramic image of people walking in all directions as if they too were moving on and off the TEXRail trains. It is her hope that this artwork will commemorate the welcoming hospitality that the people of Fort Worth are known for and encourage an open and warm embrace of both our friends and strangers.

The federal mask requirement has been extended through March 18, 2022. That means everyone will continue wearing masks when on board any of Trinity Metro’s vehicles and when inside Fort Worth Central Station and Fort Worth T&P Station. Masks are not required on the platforms or while waiting at a bus stop.

The mask mandate originally went into effect on Feb. 1, 2021, and was extended three times in 2021. The implementation is intended to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Other safety measures include social distancing, handwashing and vaccinations.

Trinity Metro will be operating modified service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. On Monday, Jan. 17, all buses (except those noted below) and ACCESS paratransit will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

TEXRail, TRE, TRE Link, CentrePort Circulator and Bell Circulator will operate on their regular schedules. All ZIPZONEs will have normal operations. The customer kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station will be open.

Trinity Metro TEXRail, the 27-mile commuter rail line that extends from downtown Fort Worth across northeast Tarrant County, through North Richland Hills and Grapevine, and into Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s Terminal B, is about to turn three years old. TEXRail, served by nine stations, began service on Jan. 10, 2019.

And soon, TEXRail may be growing! Trinity Metro is proposing an extension of the rail line to the Fort Worth Medical District. In Fall 2020, Trinity Metro began conducting the Environmental Assessment and Preliminary Engineering for a 2.1-mile TEXRail extension project. Commuter rail service would continue south from Fort Worth T&P Station to a proposed new station south of Mistletoe Boulevard, near Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center.

(FORT WORTH, TX – Nov. 30, 2021) – December marks a time of change for Trinity Metro and its customers. The agency is relocating its downtown headquarters from Burnett Plaza to a newly renovated office space at 801 Grove St., which is conveniently located by Fort Worth Central Station at 1001 Jones St.

As part of the move, the customer retail storefront at 800 Cherry St. will relocate to the kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station. Beginning Dec. 1, customers will use that location for any in-person ticket purchases. For questions, contact customer care at 817-215-8600.

Administrative offices have been at Burnett Plaza since April 2016, after relocating from the East Lancaster location that is home to bus operations and maintenance facilities. Trinity Metro purchased the Grove property in 2017 with a plan to remodel and move there when the Burnett Plaza lease expires at the end of this year.
