Another option for donating is at TEXRail’s North Richland Hills/Smithfield Station (6420 Smithfield Rd., North Richland Hills, TX 76182). Staff will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, for anyone who wants to drop off a toy. Visitors will be treated to fun, entertainment and hot chocolate.

ZIPZONE holiday weekends return

(FORT WORTH, TX – Nov. 21, 2023) – We are excited to announce that ZIPZONE will be operating on weekends in all zones between Nov. 25 and Dec. 17. The expanded hours are designed to provide riders with affordable, flexible travel during the holiday season to get where they need to go — whether that be for gift shopping, seeing friends and family, heading to a party car-free, or taking on extra shifts at work.

Mercantile, South Tarrant and Southeast ZIPZONEs will operate the same schedule on weekends as they use on weekdays. Alliance and Southside already operate during weekends, so those schedules will remain unchanged.

TEXRail service disruption, Nov. 14

(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) Oct. 27, 2023 – TEXRail will not operate on Tuesday, Nov. 14, so that crews can perform maintenance along the corridor between Fort Worth and DFW Airport. Trains will cease operations at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, with plans to resume operations at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15.

If all work is not finished on Nov. 14, TEXRail will resume partial service on Nov. 15 by running trains on the completed portion of the route and connecting with a bus to run the full length of the line.

While TEXRail is not operating, airport travelers may ride TRE Link from DFW Airport to CentrePort Station, where they can connect to Trinity Railway Express for service to Hurst, Richland Hills and Fort Worth.

If you have no other means of transportation to essential employment during this time, please call customer care at 817-215-8600 by 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9. Representatives will be able to help you with travel arrangements.

Forest Hill joining Southeast ZIPZONE Nov. 1

Trinity Metro’s Southeast ZIPZONE is expanding to include the City of Forest Hill, beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1. The popular on-demand rideshare service will now provide a public transportation option to the city, which includes the 76119 and 76140 ZIP codes.

The expansion provides Forest Hill residents with opportunity to connect with two Tarrant County College campuses and the Sierra Vista Transfer Center, which offers connections to other Trinity Metro services. Other points of interest in the Southeast ZIPZONE include Fort Worth VA Clinic, Resource Connection and Walmart Supercenter.

Timing for the expanded service couldn’t be better for new riders because all rides are free in November while Trinity Metro is celebrating 40 years of serving the community.

APTA Hall of Fame inductees
